We all do it. Friday night and ya have the weekend off. Come 11 oclock ya grab the barbq wings and the chips and salsa as well as the ice cream and sit down to a game or a good movie. I was just wondering if in the longer term will these times of food splurges will hurt me?

So everyone likes to say. I've taken an advanced biology course, and I can't think of any reason why there would be a preferred time to eat food. Small meals spread throughout the day are good for you, the night shouldn't be any different.

I think people suppose that you either don't digest well or digest too well when sleeping... Sounds like a wise tale to me.

As for any weight gain you're worried about, it all has to do with calories, if you take in more than you use up, you put on weight, simple as that. Once a week is probably fine.

If you're worried about it, ride a bike :)

it just all depends on what your food intake was for the day. As long as you stay under the amount of calories for you just to maintain your weight, your fine.

As for the for the foods you choose, just try and pick foods that arent horrible for you. Chili is high in fiber and protein and can be used to make good dips. Chips and salsa are also usually safe. As for the bbq wings... just dont make it a regular habit.

take care!

Yes they will. Eventually youll end up with acid reflux at night from eating junk food so late for so many years. Its not fun when the acid is sucked up into your lungs in your sleep and you wake up choking and cant breathe. Do it in moderation and u might be ok.

Its not likely to cause any long term damages. As long as its in moderation you should be fine unless you have family history or diabetes, heart desiese, or other ailments...then I would be more careful what you ate.
