when we go on vacation, people automatically assume we are Americans (boo). but when we tell them we are canadian, their attitude changes automatically for the better. guess we have done well to the rest of the world. hope that current events dont effect what we have

Oh my gosh, I guess I am just another Canadian (woman) who has to blow our own horn.........but SURE we are likeable (if not loveable). We are a multicultural nation who has political and social issues just like everyone else but sometimes the best news is no news at all.

We tend to stay in the background , usually behind our neighbour to the South, but you will probably notice that no one makes negative International comments about our country or our leaders. We are, as another party commented, considered to be very "nice". You will always know a Canadian by the fact that they say "Sorry" whenever you bump into them. We tend to apologize for everyone else.

When our family travels we make a point of wearing a Canadian flag on our lapel or making it known that we are Canadians....and it is true, from that point on we tend to get a little nicer treatment than if someone thinks we are Americans. That HAS to tell you something about us!

I went to Niagara falls on the Canadian side a year ago, I have absolutly no complaints at all with the Canadians I met, so yes I do like them.

Very good people, Canadians. Especially Canadians overseas! I've never met a Canadian who wasn't charming, intelligent and fun.

(-: They tell me there are some real humdingers back home, though.

Try seeing if your local college has any Canadian exchange students, or check with your nearest Canadian consulate to see if there's a Canadian Friendship club or something near you.
