Miracles are useful for some to begin to believe, but anyone with knowledge need not "signs and wonders". If fact they often lead people to dwell on the wrong aspect of the purpose of religion, which is first and foremost to help each become as they would be best be served by being.

Miracles may cause those recipients to become accustomed toward neglect of being bounteous to others, lacking in self-sustenance in favor of rewards of dependence. If it causes gratitude, self-possession, and generosity, they are useful.

All humans are devoid of self creation, so are dependents, but gratitude and generosity help one be self-possessed which is one attribute of perfection.

Religion has nothing to do with miracles.

Miracles happen due to Higher spiritual sciences. When one knows it, its no more miracle.

Using miracles for religion is simply fooling people.
