Lots of people suffer from depression, and there is no reason to be emberassed. There is nothing wrong with you, and your doctor really can help you feel so much better. S/he can prescribe a medication such as Zoloft, which helps a lot. I have seen the positive effect that various treatments have on my mom and grandma!

However, to be safe, you need to go to your doctor. It doesn't need to be a big deal and you may not need medicaid. The first step is simply to find out!

I did a quick search for depression support groups and found quite a few you might want to check out in the meantime. http://www.depressionchat.com/ and http://www.depressionalliance.org/ both look helpful, although I'm not personally involved in either. Just know, You are not alone! :)

Mostly, I URGE YOU not to drown your depression in something you may later regret, such as drugs, alcohol, over-eating, etc. Remember that life goes on and there are people who depend on you!

I wish you the best in all your endeavors. :) Don't give up hope!

P.S. When I'm feeling down in the dumps, reading scripture always gives me guidance! You can find comfort in your religion and support within your place of worship.

I have been suffering from post partum depression for the past one year when I gave birth to a baby boy. I couldn't stop thinking about how my husband loves him more than me and how things might be better if he wasn't born at all. Thus, I stayed away from him because I knew that I might do something I will regret for the rest of my life. Almost instantly I went to a therapist and convince them that I need help. Among other things, I've tried herbal supplements and other book to treat depression but nothing works like the Depression Free Method. So now I'm proud to say I'm one of the happiest mother in the world. My husband loves us both very much and I thank the Lord for the blessing he gave us. Depression Free Method?

you can talk to your dr, but they may just put you in pills. I don't think drug therapy is the answer. I would def. say get therapy and talk out your problems, that is the best. Check your area for cheaper practices. I know it sucks that insurance doesn't cover therapy, but see if there are any clinics or what not around. Many people have depression, the best thing to do is get the correct treatment. I know whats its like to feel depressed and not knowing why. I wish you all the best of luck.

any sort of depression can be tide over by faith in GOD and sincere prayer.

Your prayer is from your heart. Further You must have to understood the fact that God is present in our heart. This can be realised in meditation. Further we are the creation of our own destiny. As per Hindu sacred religion, we carry all good and bad deeds life after life. There is no end unless we pray for unification of self with the divineliness.
Hence there is always a possible way to complete mergence with God in this life by a simple and wonderful meditation

Most all cities have low income mental health clinics. Please don't be embarrassed, it's one of the most healthiest moves you can make. You could also check back into The Dept. of Social Health and Services and see if they still might help you with this issue. Glad to know you can admit when you do have a problem!

Hi sweety,
I know its hard without health insurance. So wish our country could take better care of its citizens!! Honey you can talk to your Doc you have now about how you are feeling. If you dont have a family practitioner now you can use a service in your city like yellow pages to find a reasonably priced Doc. Generel Practice or Psych. Either one should be able to help you. And just to let you know you are not alone in how you are feeling. God Bless you sweety.
P.s. I find it helps for me to pray alot!!
