My boyfriend just told me that he used to smoke weed every week for the past couple of months. It was such a shock. I feel so betrayed and dissapointed. I can't believe he never told me that. He now told me that he has quited a few months ago, and didn't see the point of telling me since it's only weed. But I still can't believe he didn't tell me. He kept stressing that the important thing is that he is sober now. But I just can't forgive him for doing that and not telling me.
Am I overreacting? What should I do? Should I just let it go?

We've been dating 3 years now. He has been a great boyfriend (or we wouldn't be able to be together this long). But now I'm having doubts about us. Why didn't he tell me?

Forgive him this time but let him know clearly how dissapointed u felt n you would NEVER accept this thing happen again. Tell him it is because u care for him and want your relationship to be healthy. It's not worth to end a 3-year relationship just because of that but u need to state your opinion clearly and if he cares n loves u,he'll respect your opinion.

i guess ur over reacting a liitle...isnt there ne thing u have hid from him?. there is no reason 4 u 2 feel betrayed but obviously there is reason 4 u to feel dissapointed cuz he shud hav told u abt it earlier.... but atleast he told u now...i mean he cud hav not told u at all.. then how wud u hav known?
& the important thing is that he is sober now!
it has been 3 years & dont just throw it away 4 something like this. every1 deserves a second chance so giv it 2 him. tell him never 2 do things like this ever again...or never hide ne thing from u or say something else that u want 2 tell him.
good luck

Are you absolutely sure hes sober? That's a hard burden to carry. My opinion is that you guys should cool down your relationship to good friends. Something like that can really hurt someone in a relationship. You are better than that. You shouln't have to carry around that burden. Let him know you are there for him and you will help him in any way to remain sober, but bring your relationship level down.

If that's the worst he ever does, you'll be JUST fine I promise. He's clean now, he fessed up to smoking the weed. He could've just not told you. As much as I disagree with any illegal drugs, he came clean in more ways than one, I say let it go, there are way worse things he could've done.
