Does anyone know what the length of time a person is contagious after they start treatment for scabies?

Scabies are mites and they have to be treated just like lice.
It could take months depending on how meticulous you work on everything in your home.
My son brought them home from football camp one time and I had to treat the whole family and completely clean everything in the house 3 times or for 3 weeks and us to get rid of them.
