As a Pagan I kinda relate to this quote. Even with the devestation this earth has suffered at the hands of man and industrialisation I can still see beauty in it. I worship the earth and live on 110 acres of bush so it is easy enough for me to switch off to global greed. Right now we are having some amazing rain after 3 years of drought and the earth just laps it up and puts on the most amazing display of recovery. The Bible tells us that our bodies are the temple of God but doesn't even have anything to say about how important the earth is and how we can have such a negative impact on it.Kinda weird really when you consider that Christians believe that the Bible was inspired by God, you'd think there would be some practical advice in it too! Especially with the belief that he created it, you'd think he'd warn about it's vulnerability.

Only if you are the bishops of Earth. Cathedral means "seat". Historically a cathedral was the seat of a bishop.

I agree, but not with the word Cathedral... Perhaps Temple, my Temple can be simply in my backyard with my plants and flowers. Could be at the beach or in a forest or in the "outback" or the"bush" as we Aussies call our desert country..I live in the bush and am a Wiccan , I would say that everyday without fail I do more (if you wish to call it worship) than any 1,000 Christians put together.. They make a lot of noise that's all, when it suits them.. That figure I could probably change to 10,000.. I don't need a big stone Church with lots of extremely rich two faced idiots running the show to express thanks for my lot in life , and pay money to keep these parasites off the dole.. No I plant trees , flowers and stay as green as I possibly can.. I am a Child of the Earth and the Cosmos, not a two faced religious Christian clone who sits in his/her Temple waiting for another hand out from the already poor and needy....The money it takes to keep the Pope and his slippery mob of make-out "Holy men" in luxury a year could save a poverty stricken country in Africa.. No amount of hand waving and prayers can do it , so I say , to the Christian Hell with the lot of them... I have done more in my life time helping people than anyone of these parasites... I will now go and ground myself in my drought stricken garden for a moment... My Temple..... Blessed Be

Sounds like someone who is too lazy to get up for church, and too cheap to support the charitable efforts of an organized religion to me.
Everyone certainly has that right, but to claim the earth as their cathedral paints quite a mental picture to me.

No way do I agree !
The Bible teaches that there the Church takes 3 forms:
(1) The Church you choose to go to is the Local Church.
(2) You are a Church if Christ Jesus is in you.
(3) All believers comprise The Church Universal.
And you need all three in order to grow in grace and in knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is the most important aspect of your life on Planet Earth.
I'm praying that God will lead you to a Church where this will happen for you. There is no greater blessing in life.
Hey ! God Bless !
Love in the Lord,
Pastor Ron Swingle
