I'm almost 23 and hardly ever paint my nails because I don't care for them much, and I don't have the patience to maintain them. Yet, I think they look very pretty on other girls. Plus, I feel more comfortable keeping them short. Although I dream about looking sophisticated, I'm happier looking like myself. Yet, most of my friends keep their nails long and done, and that makes me feel inadequate. Know what I mean?

Guys don't notice those things, fingernails and shoes are either for you or other females, men, if they are that shouldn't and imho don't really care. Be who you are, don't worry about that.

Most women I know don't paint their nails, and if they own houses, they keep them trimmed as well (all that gardening). To be fair, I'm a bit older than you, 15ys or so. I never grew my nails because up until recently I played the violin. By the time you are in your 30s, you will be happier doing what is right for you, rather than worrying about what the crowd is doing.

Yea in between lookin at yahoo answers u can grab a nail file and file them square and get a clear polish and a pretty barely there polish. After filing paint on a base coat( one coat of clear) s o your nail does not turn yellow but paint it a pretty color, like maybe natural, that is cute or a soft pink or whitish, a color that does not look very noticible when it chips. I think guys like that. I keep my nails done either colors or frenc tip. Depends on mood, but guy s like that.

Nails do not make a woman feminine. My thoughts would be that she doesn't like or have time to maintain long nails. Be yourself, the only way you should feel inadequate is if you succomb to pressure to be like everyone else.

There is something so cheap and sleazy and sexy about a girl having ghetto, trailer park nails that are either bright red or pink or french tipped. I am a very successful, educated and sophisticated man, and yet I find cheap trashy looking nails To be soooo sexy!

I don't think guys really care that much about nails. Most girls I know don't care that much about nails. They're just dead cells growing out your fingers, who cares if you paint them or not? Nails are not a significant part of you, so stop blowing it out of proportion. It's not a big deal, don't worry about it.

I care less about nail size. But a beautiful and very clean finger is a must. And I also care less about paint.

for the most part MOST chicks have FAKE nails, lol
No one is perfect, i like my nails short because i am always using a computer for work, when i tried growing them, i found it hurt when striking the keys.
Buy fake nails make them pretty and ta da you have a picture perfect set of nails.

Eh I wouldn't think much of it. I'd wonder if she is a surgeon or something like that where they must be kept short.
