"And I know you said not to base my answer on my own religion, but if it's my religion of course I think it's the best, why else would I believe it?"

.....you'll think ur religion is da best if only u fully trust it....however there might be someone out there who's stil searcing for da right religion and he or she may express their opinion...which mean not based on his or her current religion...ok!

Though some answers about Islam have been given in details, I would like to back them by historical accounts.

1* Islam defies RACISM............

" Of all the great religions of the world, Islam embraced- prior to the expansion of christian missionary activity in the 10th century- the WIDEST VARIETIES OF RACES. Originally amongst Arabs and other semitic peoples, it spread amongst Iranians, Caucasians, Mediterranean, whites, slaves, Turks and Tatars, Chinese, Indians, Indonesians,Bantus and west African Negroes." -- [ Mohammadanism, An Historical Survey, by HAMILTON A.R.GIBB, pg-25 ]

2* ISLAM IS ONLY HOPE FOR OPPRESSED.........

" The phenominal success of Islam was primarily due to its
revolutionary significance and its ability to LEAD THE MASSES
OUT OF THE HOPELESS SITUATION created by the decay of antique civilisations not only of Greece and Rome but of Persia and China and of India."--[The Historic Role of Islam, by M.N.Roy,
Foreword,Vora & Co.8 Round Building, Bombay-2]

3* Islam spread Trade .& cosmoplitianism............

" The laws of koran revolutionised social relations. Increased
production, the result of this revolution quickened trade which
ushered in an era of cosmopolitanism and spiritual uplift."
--[The Historic Role of Islam, by M.N.Roy,pg-21,Vora & Co.8 Round Building, Bombay-2]

4* Islam never claimed to be new religion..........

"...Thus Islam appeared, not as a new religion, but as revival of pure Abrahamic monotheism, purified as one of the accretions of
Judaism and Christianity and superseding them as the final
revelation."--[Ibid, pg-44]

5* Islam and science..[phisiology as you asked]...........

Dr. Keith Moore of the University of Toronto was amazed to find that many modern discoveries in the field of embryology must have been known to the author of the Qur'an, for these facts are either hinted at or stated explicitly in the Qur'an. This is particularly significant because the Qur'an claims to be the verbatim word of God. How could these facts have been known to any human being living in the 7th century? The presence of these in the Qur'an is proof enough that the Qur'an did not come from the mind of any human but must have been revealed from God whose knowledge is perfect and who therefore, knew what scientists will discover in the 20th century.

"The staging of human embryos [as told by Quran ] was not proposed until the 1940's, and the stages used nowadays were not adopted worldwide until a few years ago."

Dr. Moore concludes: "The agreement I have found between statements in the Koran and sayings in the Hadith may help to close the gap between science and religion which has existed for so many years."

6* Islam & psychology............

The following injunction has its psychological influence on the society...

"Surely God does not change the state in which a people are until they change that which is in themselves." [ar-Ra`d, 11]...

7* Islam & astronomy........

Battani was a famous astronomer, mathematician and astrologer. He has been held as one of the greatest astronomists of Islam. He is responsible for a number of important discoveries in astronomy, which was the result of a long career of 42 years of research beginning at Raqqa when he was young. His well-known discovery is the remarkably accurate determination of the solar year as being 365 days, 5 hours, 46 minutes and 24 seconds, which is very close to the latest estimates. He found that the longitude of the sun's apogee had increased by 16° , 47' since Ptolemy. This implied the important discovery of the motion of the solar apsides and of a slow variation in the equation of time. He did not believe in the trapidation of the equinoxes, although Copernicus held it.

8* Islam & socialogy......

" Do you love your creator ? Then love your fellow creatures first "
-- Mohammad.

" We have not sent thee , O Mohammad, but [as] a mercy unto ALL CREATURES."-- The Quran,[xxi, p-326]

" And my mercy encompasseth all things." The quran,[ 7:156]

" O you men, surely we have created you of a male and a female and made you tribes and families that YE MAY KNOW EACH OTHER."--The Quran,[ 49:13 ]

" Whosoever is kind to GOD'S CREATURES, Allah is kind to him."--The Quran

" Who is the most favoured of Allah ? He from whom greatest good comes to HIS CREATURES."--The Quran

" All his creatures are Allah's family for thier subsistance is from
him, therefore the most beloved of Allah is the person who does
greatest good to Allah's creatures."--The Quran

" Assist any person oppressed, WHETHER MUSLIM OR NON-MUSLIM."--Mohammad

And the evidence is written in history...........

" He himself [the prophet] gave letters of security and protection to the Jews and Christians in Arabia and never used any violence to them upon the account of religion."--[ An Account of The Rise And Progress of Mahometanism with the life of Mahomet- by HENRY STUBBE, M.A. of Christ Church- Oxford, From a manuscript copied by Charles Hornby of Pipe office in 1705, London,Luzac & Co. 1911, pg- 142-143]

"....And Islam was tolerant not simply to the Jews but also to the
Christians. The Christian church in muslim Spain was given large lands and considerable revenues, christian envoys were recieved with courtesy and allowed to take away relics of christian saints and martyrs from the muslim territory. GIBBON says in his Decline and Fall [of Roman Empire], that muslim rulers even transcribed an Arabic version of the canons of the councils of Spain for the use of BISHOPS in the Moorish kingdom. Haroon al-Rashid, the hero of the "Arabian Nights", planted in his kingdom a large number of schools, the head of these schools, his Director of Education, was a chritian named John."--[ The Spirit and Struggle of Islam by Prof. T.L.Vaswani,
Ganesh & Co., Madras-1921, pg-32]

Islam is still able to face the challenges of modern world. It has all the answers you may need.

Hope you are satisfied.......

Islam

It teaches EVERYTHING. When i researched on it on my own, i was amazed. In the Quran, there is a lot of science there n me being a science student knew that quran was a good science book for me

it tells us to pray 5 times a day. meaning, it teaches us to organize n at the same time, remember god. it tells us to fast....restrain ourselves. tells us to give charity on a yearly bases. I read the economic teachings of Islam n they r pretty good. then i read on how it affected the lives of people at that time. N i was amazed to see that after some years, poverty was reduced.

U must have heard about the shariah law. people say it is pretty harsh. i disagree. because if the hand of theif is cut, then other people won't dare to steal. if a murder is hanged, then nobody would dare kill again. if an adulterer is severly punished, there will be less cases of rapes. This is what I call practical. What is imprisonment? nothing at all

It even teaches our diet. It tells us not to drink alcohol or eat pork. Science tells us that both these things r harmful for us. Some say that drinking only a glass of alchol is no problem but I say that it is the little things that accumalate up to big things. Islam tells us not to gamble. We all know that gambling is not good. Islam tells us not to freely mingle with the opposite sex. Well, in america n europe, everybody mingles. N what is the result? single mothers!! children not knowing who their fathers are!! broken families!!!!
I can go on n on on...........
n that is y i think Islam is the best of them all.

Well, I'm not too big on science and astrology. And I know you said not to base my answer on my own religion, but if it's my religion of course I think it's the best, why else would I believe it? I'm LDS and being a member of this church truly has made me a happier person and the people around me notice that I'm different, when they ask why, I tell them it's because I go to the Mormon church. Everything I need to know about living in this world is written in the Book of Mormon and the bible. I know that sounds pretty weird, but if I'm only 14 and am convinced that this church is the true one, then isn't that an answer in itself?

Islam is the only true religion and you can find everthing logical in it whatever you want to find out.

Read Holly Qur’an….believe me it has a power to remove your all doubts/misconceptions bear in your minds.

The Glorious Qur’an is the last and final Revelation which was revealed to the last and final Messenger Prophet Mohammed, peace be upon him.

any book to claim that it is a Revelation from Almighty God, it should stand the test of time.

Previously in the olden days, it was the age of miracles - Alhamdulillah, the Qur’an is the miracle of miracles.

Later on came the age of literature and poetry, and Muslims and Non Muslims alike, they claim the Glorious Qur’an to be the best Arabic literature available on the face of the Earth.

But today is the age of science and technology. Read Holy Qur’an and let analyze by your ownselves whether the Qur’an is compatible or incompatible with modern science.

Albert Einstein said… ‘Science without Religion is lame, and Religion without Science is blind’. Let me remind you that although the Glorious Qur’an is not a book of Science…S-C-I-E-N-C-E, It is a book of signs S-I-G-N-S…

There are 6666 Ayats (Arabic word) which means signs … Ayats in the Glorious Qur’an out of which more than a thousand speak about science.

I am not speaking about scientific hypothesis and theories, which are based on assumption without any proof, because we all know many times science takes U-turns.

there are two types of approaches, one is a concordance approach - which means a person tries to bring compatibility between the Scripture and science

and the other is the conflict approach, in which a person tries to bring a conflict between Scripture and science, like how Dr. William Campbell has done very well in his book and many other fanatic Christian, jews, hindus professors/orientlist did as well, those critics intentionally twisted the meaning of Qur’an, mischievously do wrong interpretation of Qur’an and spreading misconceptions about Islam among the innocent people.

If there are some misconceptions bear in your mind it doesn’t mean that Qur’an is wrong as many non Muslims misguided by their critics/orientlists.

If you are a logical and intelligent person then u must think and use your own brain and try to find out the truth.

It is very interesting attitude that exists in the Qur'an repeatedly deals with its advice to the reader. The Allah (swt) informs the reader about different facts and then gives the advice: "If you want to know more about this or that, or if you doubt what is said, then you should ask those who have knowledge." This too is a surprising attitude.

It is not usual to have a book that comes from someone without training in geography, botany, biology, embryology etc., who discusses these subjects and then advises the reader to ask men of knowledge if he doubts anything.

as far as the Qur’an is concerned, irrespective whether a person uses a conflicting approach, or a concordance approach – As long as you are logical, and after a logical explanation is given, not a single person will be able to prove a single Verse of the Qur’an in conflict with established modern science.

For example the Astronomers, a few decades earlier, they described, how the universe came into existence - They call it the ‘Big Bang’.

And they said… ‘Initially there was one primary nebula, which later on it separated with a Big Bang, which gave rise to Galaxies, Stars, Sun and the Earth, we live in.’

This information is given in a nutshell in the Glorious Qur’an, in Surah Ambiya, Ch. 21, Verse No. 30, which says “Do not the unbelievers see… ‘That the heavens and the earth were joined together, and we clove them asunder.’

Imagine this information which we came to know recently, the Qur’an mentions 14 hundred years ago.

"The Amazing Qur'an" book written by By Dr. Gary Miller who said "Calling the Qur'an amazing is not something done only by Muslims, who have an appreciation for the book and who are pleased with it; it has been labeled amazing by non-Muslims as well. In fact, even people who hate Islam very much have still called it amazing"

Study Islam if you love studying religions because it is the most misunderstood, but fastest growing religion there is. Don't look at wiki Islam though, because it is not authentic. just read Qur'an (there is only one version of it and it has never change, never will) and look for Hadiths (sayings of the Prophet (saw)) The prophet's (saw) life is truly a great story as a whole. some parts can be terrifying, but if you know his whole life story it is truly heart-melting. All prophets' stories are heart-melting, but Muhammad (saw) gives me shivers everytime I think of him (saw) no lies!

You should look at which religion makes sense about God, too; not just which gives guidance about daily life. Fortunately, there may be a religion for your match. As far as I know, the Quran (holy book of Islam) has more science than any other religion or holy book. Islam has guidance for mankind to live their daily life. Islam also teaches that God is ONE, Supreme, and incomparable to anything.

The original, unchanged revelations given to Abraham and other prophets(like Moses and Jesus ) reaching back to Adam all came from the One True God(The Creator). This common origin explains their similarities in many beliefs and values

However, over time the teachings of the various religions, due to a variety of reasons, have become distorted and mixed with made-man ideas.

The last Prophet and Messenger of God, Muhammad , who is a direct descendant of Abraham through his first born son, Ishmael, was sent with the Last Guidance, Revelation and Testament, the Holy Qur'an(koran) to amend and correct the changes and corruption made to the the "Torah" which was sent to Moses and theTrue Gospel of Jesus. To say the truth ,God preserved all the other Holy Books plainly by preserving His Last Book the Holy Qur'an(koran)which contains the right and the truth of all that was changed in those other Books.

This is why this last Revelation which was sent 1423 years ago has remained unchanged, not even a word or a letter has been altered.

There is not even one word of difference between two Arabic Qur'ans, anywhere in the world. There has been no disagreements in history among Muslims as to what should and should not be in the Qur'an. However, in the case of the Bible, even the most ancient manuscripts conflict with one another so that no two are identical. Footnotes in all modern versions of the Bible prove this fact.

These revisions serve as concrete proofs that all the Biblical books are not at all divinely inspired. This is because it is beyond man's ability to correct the work of his Creator, who alone is Almighty and perfect

It was only natural for Almighty God to preserve the scripture revealed to Prophet Muhammad, because he was the last Prophet and Final Messenger of God.

Islam teaches us that we must pray directly to God without an intermediary and no soul can bear the burden of another and that the nature of humanity is good, and we did not inherit sin from Adam. Each soul comes into being free of sin.in Islam there are no priests or clergy -- each worshipper, man or woman, has a direct relationship with their Merciful Creator -- Almighty God. Since God is the Owner and Sustainer of everything, as well as the only one who can provide true and complete forgiveness, it is completely futile to try to approach Him through anyone else.

The oneness and universality of God's message requires that people accept all the messengers of God. Rejecting one of them amounts to rejecting them all. The Jews reject Jesus's mission and Muhammad's mission; the Christians reject Muhammad's mission; whereas the Muslims accept them all, but reject incorrect historical interpretations and human elements in these missions.

As the Qur'an is the final revelation and Muhammad is the final prophet, humanity is obligated to accept it: "If anyone desires a religion other than Islam, never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost all spiritual good" (3:86).

The Final Prophet Muhammad said: "Whoever believes there is no god but God, alone without partner, that Muhammad is His messenger, that Jesus is messenger of God, and that Paradise and Hell are true, shall be received by God into Heaven."

you can do that now as you are reading these lines is to pronounce the two confirmations and attestations of faith, here it is

I BEAR WITNESS THAT THERE IS NO GOD WORTHY OF WORSHIP EXCEPT ALLAH ( ARABIC WORD MEANS ONE GOD-THE CREATOR). AND I BEAR WITNESS THAT MUHAMMAD IS HIS SERVANT AND MESSENGER. I BEAR WITNESS THAT JESUS IS HIS SERVANT AND MESSENGER.

The right picture of lslam is conveyed in the Qur'an, which is exemplified by Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. The reality is that it is not fair to judge a religion by the actions of its followers alone because there are good and bad followers in every religion. The correct thing to do is to judge a religion by its documented revelation from God and the prophet who brought that revelation.

I encourage Christians and other religions to learn about Islam from Muslim sources and The Basis Of The Muslim Belief and not rely on second hand information which in many cases is distorted or contains a deep seated anti Muslim agenda. This is indeed a more scholarly approach
