I'm doing it as 1 work-out but am wondering which one to start with.

I don't actually know the answer to this but I had the same question and went with a compromise

15-30 minutes start doing light cardio - i.e. bike or fast walk on treadmill

strength training

20-40 minutes doing heavier cardio - swimming or jogging/running

I found this worked out really well for me as the first round of cardio would energize me for my strength training and then the final round would allow me to push my hardest without having to worry about doing anything afterwards.

cardio first. u want to warm up first. if u work out without warming up your muscles then you have a higher risk of injuring yourself.
