I have never felt the presence of the Divine (God, Allah, Jesus, whatever you choose to call it) more significant than when I am in a Natural setting.

I once was a Christian....I have been saved....but I never got the satisfaction of the feeling of something Divine from a Church, and still don't from this day. The reason why I went to church is because I was afraid if I didn't I would go to hell...in which now I see things more clearly.

Old, old, old churches are cool, I have never experienced one, but I bet they would have somewhat the same effect of beauty and connection as in nature...
Modern churches seem so cold and bland.

But the question is:
Do you feel more connected in the Divine than you do in a Modern church?

I feel most connected to all that is and deity when I'm working in my garden, wrist deep in soil. And I've been to some of those old churches from the middle ages. They're wonderful and definitely have character and a deeply spiritual feeling to them. Stone Henge and Roman temples, however, seem to have the best of both worlds. They have that natural earth connection and deeply spiritual presence that's almost indescribable.

Do you mean nature? Sometimes. While in Vermont, I pulled over on the side of the road and stumbled upon a setting near where Frost had lived. They had a trail and many of his poems that coincided with the surroundings situated around the trail, including of course a part that split into two. On that day, I felt really connected.

Yes, where ever I am is the Holy land. All people should know this about themselves. If I can not know the truth here when do I expect to find it? The only life in a church is the life a person gives it the real life is in the person, not in words.
