if you use a sun bed and a sun scream you will not get the tan you are looking for but you need to protect your skin i run a tanning salon and advise my client's to use a non perfumed moisturiser before going on (in fact a supply it in the booths) and use it again when they are finished in the booth hope this helps

It would be better to avoid sunbeds. They age your skin.

If you really want a tan then maybe go for a (quality) spray tan or try a good tanning cream for a healthy (mid-winter) glow.

If you really must use a sunbed YES you really need to protect your skin. Use a good quality sun lotion with UVA & UVB protection and avoid anything with chemicals such as Parabens.

Not all sunbeds are well built or well maintained and the dose of UV, and the type of UV, will vary.
The types of UV are;
UVA - this ages your skin and makes you look old.
UVB - this burns your skin and causes discomfort.

I'd really recommend, if you can, that you try working out in a gym. That will give you a healthy glow and do you a lot more good. However, having said that, if you tan before going on holiday you may be protecting your skin by boosting the levels of melatonin in the skin....but there are safer ways of doing that with tanning creams and even specific tanning pills.

I would certainly advise it.
The UV rays in a sunbed are just as harmful as the sun, and you can burn just as much as if you were lying outside in the full sun.

You're kidding right...geese..you are paying to bake yourself..then halting the effects?...money to burn right? I myself like to go to an expensive restaurant and pay someone to take the food from me just before I eat.

Please do not use a sunbed......They aren't called 'skin wrinklers' for nothing!
