I guess the price is dependent on the size, aspect ratio, brand, and speed ratings but I believe you shouldnt have too much of a problem finding a set of 4 new tires for less than $800 from online tire retailers like tirerack, etc..,

Another option is to get a set of used tires on Ebay. I bought a set of 4 high quality used tires on Ebay with more than 90% of its tread remaining at a fraction of the cost if new. Check the ebay listings for sellers that live near you and you may be able to pick them up instead of getting them shipped.

Also check craigslist.org listings in your area.

Ebay, just got a brand new set of tires and rims for my car, shipped to my door for 600.00. Can't beat that deal no matter where you go.

Try WalMart; they offer pretty good prices on their tires (GoodYear and/or Firestone).

If you know someone who can mount tires, you could order on-line from Coker Tires; just be sure you know what size you need.

Ask for Kumho (brand) tires, they're some of the best for the money.
