first of all you call them a woman, girl, etc. not 'chick' most girls find this disrespectful.
show her that you care.

Step 1: Banish words like "chick" from your vocabulary.
Step 2: Treat her like a good friend.
Step 3: Follow the Golden Rule and treat her as well as you'd like to be treated in the same place (we should strive to do this with everyone around us, not just women).
Step 4; Use a combination of words (but not too much too fast -- wait to see if she responds favorably) and kind gestures (holding a door, gifts etc.) and smiles and encouragement.

DON'T call her a CHIC for one.... and as someone else said above, it's the little things that mean the most. Take it from a woman...we know these things! :)
Affection can come in many ways too. Just looking at someone like you really care is great because body language can speak VOLUMES!

the best way to show affection to a chick is never to lie to her be honest and let her know how you feel.

Just don't over do it but be courteous. I never liked a guy to hang all over me but I like my hand to be held and door opened.When I was asked to go on a date he always paid, I never offered because I didn't ask him. Because you paid for the date it doesn't mean she owes you anything !

-call her (but not too much or she'll think you're too clingy) or text message her, email her just to let her know you're thinking about her.
-when you're talking together look at her, and give her your full attention
-compliment her and really mean it
-tell her you like her
-hold her hand, put your arm around her, hug her

Be a friend first. Don't rush it. Laugh and talk and enjoy her. Be yourself, and for heaven's sake save sex for LAST. When you fall in love with your friend - there is nothing else to compare.

Rub her feet. Buy lots of little things and have them ready in advance. Be considerate of her feelings. Be able to visualize her being happy.
