Three fingers of vodka (regular, vanilla, or strawberry)
fill the glass 3/4 way with ice
fill with cranberry juice (regular or strawberry)
add a wedge of lime (giving it a good squeeze into the glass first)
stir with a bruised sprig of rosemary (roll it between your hands)

Or there's the classic screwdriver, vodka and OJ.

Bloody mary: Vodka, tomato juice, tobasco, and worcheshire sauce.

(I don't use much triple sec)

Hope this helps

EDIT:
Just thought of this. Lot's of grocery stores carry pre-made drink mixes. You can just keep them on your shelf or in the fridge in case of sudden party or need of an after-work drink. I think that they are way too sweet personally, but hey, any port in a storm.

Vodka, triple sec and lime... can make a Kamakazi. We used to make these by the pitcher full! ... but then, we were drunks.
