If you perm it, it'll stay curly for about 4 weeks to 6 weeks. Then you'll have to perm it again, and again, and again until you either get sick and tired of having it re-permed over and over or get sick and tired of curly hair.

When I was a little girl my father made me eat tomatos by telling me it would make my hair curly. Of course, my hair is still very straight and I'v grown to be grateful for it. My daughters are Fijian and they, along with every other female in Fiji, is desperate to make her hair straight. I've tried to help out by buying straightening irons,. expensive chemical treatments etc...but when you stop the hair goes curly again. I personally think curly hair is gorgous...but my girls spend their money and time on gels and treatments and sometimes the resulting look is like a dead cat sittiing on their head. For goodness sake, be happy with what you have. It's fun to do a perm for a change but don't seek to change your look forever....alternatively, you could try eating tomatoes....maybe my dad got it the wrong way round.

Search for permanent curls, Or ask a hair stylist for perm recommendation. Perm really helps straight asian hair. Good Luck !

Go get a spiral perm...it lasts for months and looks really great!! You can get a loose spiral or tight. depending on the length of your hair now. You should try it you'll love it!!

If you want it to be permanent, perm your hair. Or you can use a curling or crimping iron to get curls for a few days.

get a chi curler and i guarantee it will stay. there about $100 but totally worth it and makes the worlds best straightener, blow driers and curling iron. it curles hair shoulder length in about 7 min.
