this is a question for a psychiatrist not a psychologist. a psychologist is not trained about medication, and a psychiatrist is, i don't think there is a medication that allows u to drink. alcohol usually interferes with most prescription drugs. sorry, i would advise against drinking

A phycologist is someone that is an expert on algae. A psychiatrist is the one that can prescribe drugs. Usually a person is on lithium for long periods of time, as long as it is working. There are not many drugs available to treat a bipolar disorder, that allow one to drink alcohol.

If you are bipolar you should not be drinking alcohol whether you are taking meds or not.
