What's wrong with saying what you just wrote?

Ask her what she most likes about the idea of the Prom?
Ask her what she thinks she might wear to the Prom?
Ask her if she is looking forward to the Prom?
Be interested not interesting. You know when someone tells you all about them, and how they feel, and what they want, and what they think they become less interesting. So do the oppposite if she wants to go to the prom with you she may say so.

Say: "Hey, I'm going to the prom but I don't have a date and I'd rather not show up alone. If you're not going with someone, I'd like to bring you with me."

Act casual like it's not a big deal, that way she will feel comfortable saying yes or no.

my sisters friend asked her to go to prom by coming to our house at 9pm w/2 friends sing a song (you couldn't see him yet) then he ran up from behind the car and asking her if she would go to the prom with her. It was cute

get a bag of flour and a rose. put a note on the bag of flour, saying "search through the flower to find who is asking you to prom." then a half an hour or hour later ring the doorbell again an leave the rose there with your name on it saying. "oops, wrong flower"

Be direct and the worst thing she could say is no.
