Keep in mind I need more than a normal hotel room. Must sleep 6. Is there anything fun to do in Philly with kids in tow. 14yrold,13yrold,7yrold,3yrold.

I've been a tour director for 12 years and the nicest place to stay in Lancaster by far is Willow Valley Resort. It's about fifteen minutes away from the crowded and overpopulated Lancaster commercial strip (Route 30), well worth the extra few minutes drive. It's in the farmlands, has nice rooms, incredible food, beautiful grounds, three pools, including one with a little indoor water park, a duck pond, tennis courts, a golf course, a bakery and two gift shops. And believe it or not, the prices are not crazy expensive.

Lancaster has far more than outlet shopping! I know that Willow Valley has a bus that will take you on a local tour. If you don't stay there, contact the Lancaster Visitor's Bureau- they should be able to tell you where to get a good tour of the beautiful farmlands or about anything else in the area.

And as for Philly, lots of things to do with kids! They have a great zoo, children's museum and The Franklin Institute, an interactive science museum- they can ride a skybike or climb through the Human Heart. Brought my two nieces- they loved it! I 'd also head over to the historic area to see The Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. You can head over to the Italian end for a famous Philly Cheesesteak.

Don't forget that Hershey Park is only forty five minutes away from Lancaster- a child's dream, trust me. There's also a little amusement park, Dutch Wonderland, on Route 30, but it's not nearly as good as Hershey.

Have fun- you'll fill those seven days just fine.

I assume you are going there for the outlet shopping? I would recommend the country inn and suites on route 30 lincoln highway. Nice new hotel, and in the heart of all the attractions Lancaster has. It's not the run down motels built in the '60s and '70s which still seem to exist everywhere. I've lived in Lancaster for 11 years now, and honestly, if you aren't visiting family, 7 days is a long time to stay there. You'll be bored after 3 days. The outlets will take 2 days max if you plan to hit every single store, and the other touristy things to do will take about a day or so. If you have a chance, take a ride and go see Longwood Gardens. It's about an hour drive, closer to Philly, but it's beautiful, and in June all the flowers should be in bloom.

There's a Hampton Inn that's really nice and it's about 30 minutes from Lancaster, and about 15 minutes from Hershey.
