I've been doing diamond pushups for over a year. I don't really have a schedule but I don't fall behind.

It doesn't seem to build up my triceps and pectorals. do diamond pushups actually build up your muscles?

i'm doing sets of 25

I think your problem is the sets of 25. When it comes to building muscle, your body needs to work harder and harder. You should do 3 sets/day, each set to total muscle fatigue. That means, you should go until you can't go anymore, 3 times. I can do 100, 80 and 50 and I'm ripped.

Herschel Walker, the ex-pro football player, never actually lifted weights. He did pushups, situps, etc. Thousands a day and that guy was diesel.

Just like situps, push ups after while will be ineffective for building mass.Bench press is much better building mass.I do as much weight as I can 8-10 times then take off 10 lbs after resting for a minute or two and do 8-10 then switch to curls to work biceps.
Gotta keep them worked out together.I started out just bench pressing and I started to look out of preportion.

pushup's actually are more for toning muscle, heavier weight like in a bench-press would do more. For building muscle you should pick a weight where your sets would max out around only 4-6.

I reccommend doing pullups to build up your triceps and pushups with your hands shoulder width apart to build your pectorals

since the "load" that is placed on the target muscles stays the same there is no reason for the muscles to continually adapt by being broken down and increasing in size. size/strength gains from push-ups are only for those new to any form of resistance training.
