Tramp stamps?!?!? Hmmmm.....that's one I haven't heard before. I thought a tramp was a woman who slept around, but I guess you learn something new every day. Just another example of how judgemental people on Yahoo Answers are if you arn't like them.

Sigh........

Oh, back to your question. I think it is a wonderful way to show your love publically for these people and a great conversations piece. Just think of the great story that you can tell others who ask about it.

Yeah, it's painful. All tattoos are. I'm nearly covered and my feet weren't the most painful part! (if that makes ya feel any better?) Yes they fade quicker than other spots, but if you keep it simple it won't be that bad. I have the tops of both my feet covered and have yet to get a touch up (they're about four years old). The painful part for me, came after the tattoo. My feet were so swollen! It hurt to walk and everyone teased me that they looked like Barney Rubble feet :-) The key was staying off them as much as possible. Don't wear socks until its healed if you can. I wore sandals or mary janes, so the top was open (maybe flip-flops would work?). The swelling went down in a couple of days and they were fully healed within a couple of weeks. Good luck!

We're nearly the same age. I have several children, and after my last was born I finally fulfilled my dream of getting tattooed. I was just a year or two younger than you then, but I don't regret it a bit. Most people now who know about it or get to see it (not many-- it's a lower back tat) assume it's been there for years. They're surprised to find out I *just* had it done in my 30's. If it changes their opinion about me, though, I don't care in the least. Hmph, well, my conscience is forcing me to be honest and tell you that I haven't yet disclosed to my anti-tat mother-in-law, for fear of what *she* would think. ;) But everyone else is fair game, even my own mom.

If you want it, can afford it without taking from the grocery & bill money, and have a safe tat artist you trust to do the work, GO FOR IT!

Go for it! My mom was in her late forties before she got a tattoo and I thought it was so cool! I got one before I was pregnant with my daughter and got a second one when she was about 6 months old. My husband has 3. I think that's a good idea for a tattoo also. I really like giant pandas and my second one is a custom design of a mama panda hugging her baby panda. It represents my sister as well as my baby because it's a copy of a picture she gave me years and years ago one day when I was feeling sad. She had all our friends sign it. Shes such a good sister! Anyway, my daughter (18 months now) loves looking at both her dads and my tattoos and I wont have a problem if she wants to get one when shes older (as long as shes at least 18).

I am a mother as well and i have a whopping 7 tattoos and plan on geting more though all can be hidden should i need them to be. a tattoo that has meaning is a grate thing to have. I say go for it Girl. Tattoos are not restricted to the people in their early 20s and recless now days. People who are high end exsecutives have tattoos. I have seen VERY few people who do not have atleast one.

I got my first tattoo at age 35 and I have 4 children 3 are teenagers. My thought to this is that my body is my body and if I chose to do something to it then fine. If my kids want a tattoo which they do. I just tell them they have to wait until they are 18 which is the law. They are fine with it.

Go for it, I have 3 tats on that I got when I was very wrong and then I have one on each leg commemorating the births of my boys.I would try to stop anyone from having a girlfriend or boyfriends name tattooed on them but your kids are your kids forever, no matter what happens.

When I was fourteen I was given this wonderful advice that I have successfully lived by for the last 26 years.

If you have to ask the question concerning your behavior, you already know the answer and are only hoping that someone will tell you that what you know deep down to be wrong is actually OK to do.

Get it! Tattoos are a lot more acceptable than they used to be. Nowadays everyone is getting tattoos, even moms. I have tattoos and I have three kids. My kids like my tattoos and want to get one someday. My husband has lots of tattoos. We are just regular people who happen to like tattoos. I like your idea for a design. I especially like that there is a meaning behind it.

I think that is cool. I don't mind tattoos as long as they are not everywhere. I hate when you can't cover them if need be. On the foot is cool, becuase you only have to show it when you want to and is easy to disclose..go for it.
