Mine was years ago in a traffic jam, headed north on I-91 in Connecticut. We'd either been completely stopped or crawling along at about 10 MPH. A guy in the lane next to me asked me for my number.

Mathew: No, I didn't give him my number. I happened to be on the way to my boyfriend's (now husband) place at the time! This was quite the traffic jam. We didn't even move at all for minutes at a time. I could very easily have written it down, gotten out of the car, walked over & handed it to him. *sigh* He was really cute, too.

I was a grad student and she was an undergrad and it was in the radiation room at work. She was pretty hot :-) With the romantic sound of the Geiger counter clicking away, I asked her out for dinner that night. She looked at me through the plexiglass shield and said yes. We went out a couple of times, but we soon discovered that there really wasn't any chemistry between us.

Your story about the traffic jam, I'm curious about it -- did you give him that number? How would you go about giving someone a number when you're both moving along in cars anyway? would you write it on a piece of paper, ball it up and toss it over? write it with your finger in the air? or maybe do some stunt action?
I don't know what it is about cars. A few months at a red light, in the car next to me a woman blew a kiss at me and started sucking on her finger while staring at me. Then when the light turned green she zoomed off leaving me in the dust!

A friend of mine had a car accident and I went to pick her up. As we waited for the tow truck, the cop who wrote up the accident asked me out.

I love your thing in traffic. Pretty funny.

An office "Cinco de Mayo" party; unusual in the sense that I asked him, and that it turned out he was 23 (at the time) and I was about to turn 43. We got married last year, so there!

I had guys come by my store soliciting, just trying to make my buy stuff for $10. I told them I had no money. They said they would accept a dinner date as form of payment. I said that my boyfriend wouldn't appreciate it.

High school time. I lightly bumped his dad's Jag with my dad's car. I gave him my home number and cried all afternoon. Later that night he called... to ask me out. We both lied to our fathers about not knowing what caused the scratches.

My wife and I first asked each other out in a haunted house ride at a carnival. It was classic and romantic *** hell. Neither of us planned it, it just happened and it was so sweeeeeeet.
