Use a leave in conditioner on dry hair for now to camouflage the problem until the hair grows back. Minimize brushing while wet. Use a deep conditioning product once per week and normal conditioner every time you wash. My hair used to break because of wearing my hair in a ponytail - if you are using rubber bands (including the covered ones) you should stop and switch to scrunchies or hair pins with rounded edges. Get your hair trimmed regularly to let the currently broken hairs slowly catch up.

Get a trim!! It works wonders! Also, cut down on the amount of heat styling you do. Maybe leave the blow dryer, straightener, or curling iron in the drawer for 2 or 3 days a week. Don't brush your hair when it's wet, and when you brush dry hair, start at the bottom and work your way up. If you have long hair and worry about breakage while you sleep, put your hair in a very loose ponytail at the nape of your neck just to keep it from going crazy. Try shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair as well. Get regular exercise and take your vitamins!

If you've tried all sorts of at home hair repairs, maybe it's time for you to go in to the salon, get a trim and get a deep conditioning treatment.

Also, are you taking a multi-vitamin each day? That helps with hair growth and hair health.

Good luck!

Try olive oil or almond oil evry night. Wash it off in the morning. Egg is a good protein treatment for the hair. Always make sure that you never comb your hair when wet because it leads to hair breakage.
