In spite of some recent church officials giving their own unofficial opinions on the matter, the Catholc Church has always taught that God made Adam from the earth, that the Holy Spirit breathed a soul into him, and that God later crafted his mate by fashioning Eve from one of Adam's ribs.

These two constituted the first couple, who were responsible for their own actions, and subject to only one initial law, which related to a particular tree, that was located in the Garden of Eden.

The basic theme of that law was: You sin ... you die.

You probably know the rest of the story.

Catholic Rome - right from the Vatican, did an 360, and announced to the world just last year that they don't believe parts of the Bible - including the Genesis account.

My question would be more like, "Why do they even bother with their religion if its a charade? If you don't believe the Biblical record - then why put on the show... WAIT! There's the answer! The Vatican, the pope and all these big wigs are raking in all kinds of money.

As for me, I believe the Biblical account. The Roman Catholic Church was hypocrisy and a farce in the beginning and the Vatican established that fact with its denial of the Biblical accounts. They are taking many good people down their trail of deception which leads to hell and judgment.

The Church is very good about leaving science to the scientists. Here is where she puts her foot down, though:

"When, however, there is question of another conjectural opinion, namely polygenism, the children of the Church by no means enjoy such liberty. For the faithful cannot embrace that opinion which maintains that either after Adam there existed on this earth true men who did not take their origin through natural generation from him as from the first parent of all, or that Adam represents a certain number of first parents. Now it is no way apparent how such an opinion can be reconciled with that which the sources of revealed truth and the documents of the Teaching Authority of the Church propose with regard to original sin, which proceeds from a sin actually committed by an individual Adam and which, through generation, is passed on to all and is in everyone as his own." -- Humani Generis, para. 37

I don't understand why you bring up a religious order when you ask this question??

What does religion have to do with who were the first peoples on the Earth?

If you read your Bible like you should, you would have your answer even if you did not believe it.

On the sixth day God made men and women of all races. Possibly millions of them. God gave them their marching orders and sent them on their way to and here is the BIG little word, repopulate the Earth and have dominion over the beast and fish and birds.

Show the truth in the questions you ask, not the stupidity of your ignorance.><>

Depends on which chapter of Genesis you choose to believe. The 1st chapter is inpsired by Egyptian myth and has the first humans made at the same time. The 2nd chapter was influenced by Babylonian beliefs, and Adam was made first, followed much later by Eve. The 1,500+ sects of Christianity have all sorts of various creation myths, but I'll bet the Catholics weigh the 2nd Genesis story very heavily, since it actually names the first humans.

Adam and Eve, and so on and so on, then we have thecity of Babel where humanity split up and began speaking different languages and what not. Pretty much, the Biblical creation story is symbolic of evolution and the Catholic church has recognized this through Theistic Evolution, a theory supported by Pope John Paul II.

The races evolved form Adam and Eve. They were a white couple who eventually started having black babies. The black people then had mexican babies. The mexicans then had oriental babies. The Oriental people then started having Arab babies, and so on, and so forth. This is how all the races came to be. Do not contradict the truth of the Bible!

There is no single best christian denomination. There is good in most all, and bad in most all. Each individual should study the book from which Christianity is derived, then if interested in joining a church, choose the one which he/she believes is closet to their beliefs. We need to be where our spiritual needs are met and where we feel accepted and happy.

I read their position a few weeks ago and it all but endorses evolution. They feel the divine creation was when god gave humans a soul.
