They told me if I watched too much television I would get square eyes. I've been watching for years, up close and everything and it hasn't happened. Also the wind changed and my face didn't stay like that!

I feel the same as you do. I was told that lying down eating will make my ears grow large. Not drying my hair properly my nose will rot off including the same story they spinned you. Hehehe :)))))

Simple, your parents told you what some people call "white lies" (another words they are harmless lies) in order to protect your looks, if you stare at a TV it can cause eye damage especially if you are too close, and like most kids don't blink often enough to keep your eye moist when watching TV. also kids get into habits very easily as they aren't self conscious like adults are, so if you used to screw up your face and look very silly to your mum, then she probably stopped you from getting bullied by your mates for looking a ****.. they were just being caring in their own way.

Mmmmmm There's still time. I was told if I listened to the radio too much I would get cabbage ears and I have. Actually I thought it was wind change that had made your face like that but then I don't know what like it was before Lol!!!

Well, for u to ask such a question at your age spells out jus how special u r.
but to answer you, parents say that kind of stuff coz they dont like seeing their kids having fun.and whats too much tv anyway?not more than they prescribe for us to watch?so if they say you can watch only 1hr of tv a day, then 1hr 3min is too much?

as for the changing wind part, maybe you need to take a closer look at the mirror!

hope this answered your question

Parents do that often.
See what they meant to say was, if you watch to much television your eyes turn red, and triangular

in regards to your wind statement...huh ?

They wanted you to do something good with your life. Not just sit around all day watching the television. I don't think it is good though. They were trying to scare you out of it.

hahah, we have all heard the old myths.

keep crossing your eyes they are going to stay like that.
play with yourself you will go bling.
etc etc

While some parents do tell these to their kids, it is usually due to the fact they are unsure of what to say, so they say things that perhaps will scare the kids into doing what they want.

P.S are you sure your face did not chage to reflect your square eyes you brought upon yourself?

Many parents lie to their children about stuff like this - to get them rid of their bad habits by scaring them. Its silly if you ask me, because a person is never too young to hear the truth...
