My doctor lectured me for fasting for more than three days, it causes you colon to be lazy and not function properly. Trust me, I wish I would have listened, I ended up with colitis over it. And please remember to slowly introduce foods again, nothing heavy or your body will pay for it and you will regret it, plus it takes away from the whole point of why you did it. I can tell you I do feel better after I fast for THREE days.

Ok well here's the thing you DO NOT HAVE TO STARVE YOURSELF.

Go to the health food store and buy whats called psyllium husk.
They have it for pretty cheap.
Drink this three times a day (the fiber cleans your colon out by working like a broom.
Ok Now you must eat 5 at least but 10 would be better servings of veggies all day munch on them. Broccoli is 1 for helping along the digestive process.
Lots of fruits oranges, apples, grapes and pinapple.
See all this natural stuff will really push the psyllihum husk along.
Stay away from red meat and chicken. If you must eat some fish and veggies and brown rice. Soy protien would be better.
Drink lots and lots of water like 12 glasses thru the day and add some lemon to the water if you dont like lemon.
If it is too hard for you to eat all this through out the day you could also make a cabbage soup. Like the one the diet uses.
Let me tell you that soup will clean you out fater than 500 prunes!
Anyway the body heals and cleans itself out amazingly on its own. I would not use harmful harsh laxative or things like that.
Lots of fruit and fiber and water.

For losing weight??
Simply put, don't fast. Your blood sugar can and will drop to dangerously low levels causing you to faint...a lot! Also, it will slow your metaolism WAY down making it harder to lose weight. Another thing you should be concerned about is the fact that your body will freak out and start storing fat like crazy because of the drop in nutrients. Again, don't do it. Instead, drink a lot of water and eat small frequent meals that are low in carbs and fat and get some moderate excercise. Be mindful of what you eat every day and you'll look and feel great! are you planning on a water fast or juice fast? If a juice fast I wouldn't worry, just start whenever but at water fast I would ease into it by eating less the couple of days before like- 500 or so cals. then when you are ready to finish just start with something like chicken broth, because something big would just make you sick.

you start by eating only fresh organic fruits and vegies for a day.....or two......then you can go to juice......then you go to straight water or tea, no longer than a week without dr. supervision, come off it the same way you went on it
