Sounds like my ritiousness in not believing was all god's idea to begin with, so he already chose for me to go to hell, did he not?

Actually guraqt2me:

God absolutely did NOT NOT NOT design humans with a proclivity to sin. Adam and Eve were without sin until their fall. We are tainted by sin because of what they did. It wasn't a decision that God made. It was a decision that man made. And this is the crux of the original question and your answer as well. Both assume that God predestined who is saved and who is not saved. That negates free will. This belief is called predestination and calvinists believe it. I am absolutely not calvinstic, but you might want to research it. You might also want to research Arminianism, which is more what I believe and it completely answers the original question.

To Don S: You are talking about predestination. Look it up. It's been a topic of debate for a very long time.

I suggest you get a good Bible that has a good translation. I think that part of the question could be fixed if you understood the original intent. Too bad Greek and Hebrew aren't as common today as they were way back when.

And I repeat: Arminianism.

Don: Firstly; humanistic "righteousness" is not acceptable to God. It requires the "righteousness" of Jesus Christ to suffice for us humans. This is why, as you have stated, "Our [Christian] righteousness is of him [Jesus] sayeth the Lord" ! Yes; you are correct in deducing that your righteousness in not believing IS God's idea to begin with ! You go wrong in declaring that you are already marked for "hell" because of this. To elaborate more on my answers. Firstly; God designed humans with the proclivity towards sin. God fore knew that our first parents namely, Adam and Eve would blow it ! The problem with this scenario is that only God knowing that humans are bent towards sinning is not good enough; therefore, He [God], devised for His human creation a Devine Plan. This Plan includes, for humans to live their lives apart from God ( cut-off from Him because of those sins ), with the acception of a few [Chrsitians]. People in general, will come to see the result of their actions collectively, cumulate into Nuclear war, disease pandemics, starvation, severe climatic changes in the weather (all - not necessarily in this order) - all attributed to human sin [lacking the righteousness of God - sin]. Jesus will return to this earth to bring His human creation to Him and develop a relationship with them ( they therefore, become "Christians" and have the righteousness of Jesus attributed to them, also ). All humans ever born, will be made alive again, each in their turn and time and given this opportunity, at the time period called the "Judgement". "Hell" has no bearing whatsoever, on anyone since the "hell - fire" concept is NOT a plausible Christian doctrine and can not be found in the Bible. So; you will not be consigned to be there because of your lack of "righteousness in not believing". In the end of this age - we ALL will WIN !!!
