I set the Bible on the floor. Then I place a large, deep, and soft pillow set squarely over it. I then either lay my head on the pillow, or sit on the pillow, and meditate deeply for 10 - 15 minutes.
I also meditate on the Book of Mormon and find it a much better experience (the Book is much slimmer than the Bible!).

First, pray for holy spirit to help you understand.
Then, read a little--not more than 5 chapters and preferably somewhat less.
Then ask yourself:
1.) What does this tell me about the kind of person God is?
2.) How does this fit in with God's purpose for the earth and mankind?
3.) Why was this important for God to include as instruction for us?
4.) Who can I share this information with that will really enjoy it?
5.) How can I adjust my thinking to be more in line with God's will for me?
6.) Are there other things in the Bible I have read before that this reminds me of? If so, is it something God repeated or am I mistaken?
7.) Etc., etc., etc.

You can mediate on the Bible by memorizing scripture and thinking about what you have learned. Also through praying the scriptures this will help you mediate on the Bible.

Here is a good thing i heard once...
Pick a verse in the Bibe then you...
Read It
Sing it
Pray it
Write it
Also....I will sometimes pick 1 or 2 chapters in the Bible..and read them through verrrrry slowly an hour a day over and over again. I an finding that if I read each verse very slowly and really think through each one..God makes His Word come alive to me and I will find myself loving the Bible. After all..it is truth..real..and alive!!! HAVE FUN!!!

find a scripture that grabs your attention and then think about it. Just a verse or two or four. Say it in your mind. ask for guidance from the Holy spirit before you begin. I really like James1:5-8

Well, read a passage and then look at the underlying meaning of it. Then consider how that meaning applies to everyday living or how you can apply it to everyday living.
