My husband and i are looking for a puppy, I have always wanted a pitbull but i cant see spending 1000+ from a breeder on a puppy that i need to be on a waiting list for when so many puppies need good homes. I live in MA were could i find pitbulls in need?

A shelter would be a perfect place for you to find a puppy. You can usually get a puppy for around $100 (which includes the spay or neuter and vaccinations). You can even find purebreds at shelters. Just go to the website listed below, click the breed list on the upper left side, pick your breed, and enter your zip code. It will bring up all of the available puppies/dogs in your area that are listed.

If you get a pit bull puppy, you really should spend the money on it from a reputable breeder. There are lots of poorly bred pit bulls out there with aggressive tendencies because of irresponsible owners who encourage it. Unless the breeder is very careful to only breed healthy, friendly pit bulls, then don't get a puppy.

But if you're not bent on a puppy, there are lots of adult pit bulls in need of homes if you go to a pit bull rescue. This might be a much better option.

You could get a puppy from the pound or an adoption center. Make sure to have it tested and get it the right shots once you get the puppy!
hope you will find a cute and caring puppy!

I was just on there looking at dogs in phoenix,az and I don't know about MA but out here there's over 200 of them. It depends on the shelter/program but they usually run about $150-$300 but that
includes shots, microship and physical. They don't have papers though.

Hope this helps!

I think that you should surf the net and do searches on places in your area and that meet your budget. Also maybe try your local pet homeless shelter or a pet shop.

Try your local animal shelter or humane society.
