You really should talk to your doctor about this. Vitamins could react with your medicine or condition.

Ok if it is growing from the outside of the spine near the kindneys it's not a spinal cord tumor. It's a spinal tumor. (difference as of what effects it can have on the persons nervous system) If it is growing on the spinal column it's self their is a really good prognosis. They should easily be able to remove almost all of it, if not all of it and then as a precautionary the patient would be put on chemotherapy and monitered by a doctor quite regularly. Their aren't going to be and home remedies for something of this nature. Really a tumor is cancer and it needs to be removed I'm suprised that they haven't already discussed this with you and scheduled the proceedure. It will be a long journey and not an easy one either but there is an extremely good chance that the patient will make it through it ok and in one piece. Good Luck

I would talk to your Dr. you could be anemic or just normal for recovery from your surgery. A regular multi-vitamin wouldn't hurt beyond that? Surgery of any kind is more draining than you think it just takes time. As for the other answer, chemo-therapy is not generally required for a cure, but it sounds like you have done your research about your particular tumor. If you had to have a CNS tumor it was the most curable.

Had you given some more information viz. Grade of Ependymomo, actual place in spinal cord affected by tumor and what are the treatments other than surgery was given, it would have been better. Have you undergone Chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

Ependymoma are tumors arising from the inner lining of the cerebral ventricles (= intracranial) and the remnants of the central canal in the spinal cord. Intracranial ependymomas are usually seen in children. Spinal ependymomas arise more often in adults. The common location of intracranial ependymomas is the fourth ventricle.

It is quite common to feel very low in sentiments and energy etc., when the above treatments are given. Even people feel this immediately after hearing the name of the disease. You will recoup slowly and step by step and it will take time. Vitamins or any other supplements may not be much useful. However there is no harm in having them as per the advise of your oncologist.

Please have regular evaluation of the progress by you Oncologist and take the medication and other treatments as suggested by him. You should not neglect and you have to get proper treatments as CANCER IS STILL AN ENIGMA-

I strongly urge you to look for an answer besides artificial drugs, surgery and radiation. Here are some books I have read from cover to cover, that are now helping me to survive way beyond my doctors' grim predictions--

"The Cure for All Cancers"
"A Cancer Therapy"
"Oxygen Therapies"
"Hydrogen Peroxide--Medical Miracle"
"The Natural Cure for Cancer--Germanium"
"Killing Cancer"
"Natural Cures 'They' Don't Want You to Know About"

There are many other good books about surviving this disease, and you should know about this option, even if you choose to go the traditional route with it's abysmal prognosis. Best of luck.

well, ...there are a number of things you need to do. After the surgery, you need to do things to keep the cancer from coming back. Take some cesium chloride with rubidium. There is one that also includes DMSO. I think if you search on yahoo search engine, its in some nutrition website made in 2000 **. And, you need to eat alot of veggies to maintain your energy. And I mean alot. I would say, like a head of lettuce, 4 cucumbers, 5 tomatoes, broccoli, carrots, like 3 bags of those spinach things, etc etc ...I mean, you need alot of lift yourself. You know those chicken salads? I would do 3 of those every time I eat. But, I would make my own, because those ones in the stores are skimpy on the good veggies. I toss it all in to get my engergy up. I need it. Especially after I got into a motorcycle accident. Keep away from the beef. Now that you are weak, you need to fight off infections and viruses. So, go to biologicalmiracle and grab the "antidote". It will keep you from getting sick when you are almost out. And it will boost your energy to pick you up. You will also need to replenish your cells. Go and find some oxygen drops. Its inexpensive and helps alot with your body. After your surgery, you might have alot of damage that makes you slow. Just take the oxygen drops to help with healing the surgery and to give your cells more oxygen to do work. This will take some stress off your heart. And not to mention, oxygen drops also destroy cancer. In the mean time, go to some gas station, and buy like a 6 pack of red bull. Get the big one, not the small one. I say drink one per day in the morning. Dont drink more then 2 per day. It has taurine in it, which wakes your body up. Um, it can also cause you to go to the bathroom. Not diahhrea going to the bathroom, so dont worry. Its the energy in there that makes you go. Good luck.
