you have Aphasia. This can be caused by a number of things, stress, contusions, concussions, and strokes to name a few. Are you getting enough complex carbs in your diet? the brain NEEDS glucose to function properly. Have you recently hit your head or fell? Sounds from what you've provided like stress. I think you should find a way to organize your schedule so you have less stress. If you find you CANNOT make time for everything I suggest you eliminate a few things from your schedule. School should come first. If you're at risk to not do well in a class, it may be wise to quit swim team. I understand that it is important to have a social life, and I in no way think you should discontinue to have your down time but it's apparent that you need to find some way to organize your time even if that means you stop swim team. Temporary aphasia has happened to me. I got it alot when I was stressed, had insomnia (from stress) and not getting the proper nutrients. I would mis read things, and not even realize i was saying something wrong unless someone pointed it out to me. I was told once that I said "blabble the dark spider sing" and I SWEAR I thought I had said "I'm hungry, are you?" xD but once i managed to organize me time, and started eating more complex carbs I started feeling, and sleeping better and the aphasia went away. I still have little freudian slips on rare occasions, but those happen sometimes.
good luck!

first of all it sounds like you have way too much going on in your life. Start out by eating more foods for stamina like pasta and such you can check on line what athletes eat. some vitamin suppliments would do you a wonder too. Get your sleep that is the #1 thing everyone will tell you. Your mind needs the visual and mental rest even though it is still running when you sleep but you arent putting it to work do you understand what i am saying here. Just rest and forget about other things you need you time for your mind and body. It is unhealthy and you dont need other problems to arise from this lack of self awareness ok.
See a doctor if you have any physical weekness blurred vision and if you are getting confused all the time. That means there is something wrong-----your body is telling you so.

I'm not goingto give a label to this, that's a Dr's job.
Lack of sleep has adverse affects on the human psyche. With no down time it does not have the ability to properly put short term memory into long term. Added stress will add to the above problem. Your brain is trying to give you the best info, fastest, regardless of it being correct. Besides if you are not properly resting your body after increased activity, then you are only increasing the risks of any health issues you already have.
Have you thought that maybe your physical activity has allowed your body to quiet itself. Athletes find that they enter the "zone" when competing or practicing. This allows them to enter a zen-like state equivalent to meditation. This allows you periods of time where your mind is not focusing or fretting about your mental stresses.
I would not suggest quitting the sports. They would be more helpful than hindering provided you are maintaining your nutrition. Once you have learned to focus your body whatever is left is a mental issue.

You are really jeopardizing your health and well-being. We all need a certain amount of sleep. If you are a teen or young adult, you need between 9-12 hours of sleep (a recent study showed). If you are not getting close to that, you are running on empty.
Stress adds to the damage, it increases certain hormones in your body that affects your immune system and organs and thinking. You need to limit stress, manage what you have with meditation, prayer, yoga, deep slow breathing, relaxing quiet time, etc. Look at your stressor, what can you get rid of?
If you don't change something soon, you will find yourself physically in trouble. Your memory will get worse, you will make more mistakes and you may even begin to feel psychotic. You don't want to get in a car wreck or hurt yourself or others so change something now.

Lack of sleep, diet, stress and exhaustion can play all kinds of tricks on the brain, including use of incorrect words. My guess is you are simply suffering from a lack of good nutrition and sleep deprivation.
But, from what you describe, it can be also be a sign of some serious underlying illness/brain disorder.
There is a medical term for using wrong words in place of correct ones, but I can't think what it is called at the moment.
You need to see a physician and be checked out..........

Lack of concentration, lethargic/low energy, depressed mood, difficulty sleeping, decrease in social and academic functioning, inability to focus on daily tasks ... it sounds like you suffer from depression. I'd talk with your school psychologist, or even a regular psychologist. Although it may be difficult, having a strong social support system is important (family, friends, girlfriend, etc.) If the cause of your depression is environmental - things in your life - then 'talk therapy', stress management, and time management will help. If it's biochemical, then in addition to these things that I just mentioned, you may also need psychiatric medication (probably Paxil). Good luck.

Most doctors will not induce until you pass your due date. I feel for you, I am 37wks+5days and cannot sleep either. My hips hurt and I just cant wait to meet my little girl! I am not having headaches though so im sorry that you are so uncomfortable. Just remember you are almost there. You sound VERY stressed out and I don't blame you. TRY to lay down and relax. Put a cool cloth on your head and watch a funny movie. It will be over soon!!

You are not losing your mind. You probably are trying to do too much in one day. You have more on your mind then you can handle.. and yes.. you must get a full 8 hrs. sleep at night to be able to think more clearly. You have pretty much answered your own question. Most important, talk to your swim coach and let them know what you are going through. You could also have a vitamin defenciency.. get a physical.

any sort of depression can be tide over by faith in GOD and sincere prayer.
Your prayer is from your heart. Further You must have to understood the fact that God is present in our heart. This can be realised in meditation. Further we are the creation of our own destiny. As per Hindu sacred religion, we carry all good and bad deeds life after life. There is no end unless we pray for unification of self with the divineliness.
Hence there is always a possible way to complete mergence with God in this life by a simple and wonderful meditation

It really sounds like you're not getting enough sleep and wearing your body out. Get more rest.
Try to get at least 8 hrs of sleep a night first and then see if you notice positive changes. Whenever I get only 3-5 hrs of sleep per night, I just can't think straight in the morning and afternoon, and it just kills my short-term memory.
