If he was was about 10" shorter he would be "Tim 'The Concrete Mixer' Silva". He's slow, graceless and relies entirely on his mass to give him power. Limited MMA skills, but massive size equals a championship belt? How many of you think Tim Silva is where he is, in the UFC, just because he's so big? If not, why not?

I totally agree. I'm hoping one of the new Pride fighters crushes him like a flabby grape since none of the UFC'ers could get the job done. Actually, I hope Randy Couture thumps him at the next UFC event and THEN the "Maine-iac" gets passed around by the Pride fighters like a drunken sorority girl.

Off topic, but I'm expecting big things from Cro Cop. He's one of those Eastern Block fellows who grew up fighting for food, protection and anything else he could get on the streets of Croatia.

It has everything to do with his size, the only reason Tim even got into fighting because Pat Militech was picking up one of his fighters at the airport and he saw Tim and he introduced himself and told Tim he with his size and Pat's training he could be a champion on day. But has good boxing good TD defense and with his size he has the potential to be great he just needs to become more well rounded and not rely so heavily on his striking.

Despite what they say......."size does matter"........Does Tim have some skill?..sure he does......but who needs skill when you can just stand there!....Who cares you have a 12" reach advantage, stay 4' away and stop takedown's and you can go undefeated. That a'boy Timmy.. your fight's are about as exciting as the monday morning drive to work.

if Tim Silvia was 10" shorter, he'd be wearing a orange shirt, working on the side of the freeway, operating the backhoe!

Well lets not hate on Silvia right away. Look at his last fight with Monson. Who would of thought Silvia would be almost be able to pull a triangle choke on a BJJ World Class black belt. Also I have to admit for a big guy Silvia's sprawls are pretty good. But his skills dont even compare with Pride's heavyweights. If he does with this fight with Randy it will be because of a knockout. But I dont see him even coming close to beating Cro Cop.

Yeah it has alot to do with his size, he does have some skill but I think when Randy Couture can take him. The guy gets worn out in the first 2 minutes of a fight. And he pushes his punches during the 2nd to 5th round.

Dude, I've been saying that since his first debut fight with UFC against Cabbage!!! I still say if gay @ss Herb Dean hadn't stopped the fight between him & Arlovski at UFC 59 too soon that Sylvia wouldn't even be the champion right now! I wanna say Herb Dean's contract with UFC ran out & wasn't renewed because of that & many other high-profile fights he stopped way too soon.
