I enjoy cutting myself so I don't understand why some people complain about it. In fact, I hope to build up a lot of resistence to feeling pain or being afraid of blood. Its a challenge of sorts to test one's limits about courage.
It also helps to be strongly motivated by lots of people who hate you anyways. So everyone wins one way or another. I just don't see that there' s anything wrong with cutting as long as you use clean and sharp objects.

The problem with cutting is that it is an extremely unhealthy coping mechanism that does not actually address the underlying problems which are causing the person to cut. I hope you find help for whatever is causing you to mutilate yourself.

Most cutters aren't "complaining" about cutting, but recognizing that what they are doing is an inappropriate response to a stressful situation and that they need help. They realize that even though they derive pleasure or relief from the cutting, it is harmful to them and they need help to stop. So, although you may interpret it as "complaining", it is really someone with a problem seeking help for that problem. You obviously don't see what you are doing as a problem or something that is/will cause you negative consequences. Therefore you are not ready to ask for help. No matter how clean the objects are you are using to cut, there is always risk for infection. Likewise, there is always the risk of cutting deeper than intended and causing severe damage. In addition, the more often you cut, the more you damage even the outer layers of skin and those nerves, leading to mild nerve damage and loss of sensation to that area of the skin. The rationale you use to cut is not the typical rationale used by cutters. Most cutters don't cut to prove their courage or strength or to prove to others they don't care they are hated. Courage is found not in cutting but in NOT cutting, because it takes a much stronger person NOT TO CUT when the urge is so overwhelming. Reevaluate you reasons and consider admitting you need to talk to someone about your issues. Good luck to you.

you may want to try coping with your stress? cutting yourself could be because of your stress. your family are giving you pressure. when you are about to cut yourself, think of something you liked to do and it should be able to keep you occupied. if you don't have any hobbies, keep the cutter out of sight, go out of the house to take a breather. staying in the place where you got stressed or had a fight, would give you more pressure, and cut yourself to vent it out. you could also talk to your friends about other things when you had the thought of cutting yourself? hope that could help you. if those really couldn't, talk to an adult about it.

I have cut and liked it too. I don't anymore b/c I don't want any scars that can be readily seen. I do not believe all the BS about deep seated rooted problems that prompt cutting. For those of us who have done it, we know that it is just simply fun and stimulating. Find a partner like I did, and combine cutting with sex! It takes unbelieveable willpower to stop! Tread carefully like spirit.

I think you may be seeking much needed by speaking of it on the forum. You are cutting for a reason, and obviously it gives you some type of release. I hope you seek help.

Hey, to each their own...I dont' know a single person who cuts themselves...I was wondering what the question is about...sorry, sounds kind of bogus to say it's to test one's limits about courage...I always thought it was some kind of a distress signal by someone who seriously needs help!!!

okay, the reason why i cut is because i have serious depression issues. i'm not proud of it and i certainly don't "enjoy" it, but i am most definitely not going to complain about it. i just tend to keep my cutting to myself and not talk about it. talking about it just gets nosy questions and angry people firing at you.

in my opinion, anyone who cuts and then complains, isn't really cutting for the right reasons. if s/he even has reasons.
