I asked a question very similiar to this one. It irritates me how you cant ask a question about tattoos without someone saying "ew dont get tattoos they're going to look stupid in 80 years, blah blah blah" yeah.....We all know that we're going to have them in 80 years, and those of us who really love them, have considered this. Apparently they think our brains arent capable of looking at the big picture.
I want to know, if they hate tattoos so much.....why do they keep coming to the tattoo section, to answer questions? And why do they think that we even care one tiny little bit if they like them or not? their personal opinion clearly isnt going to stop us. We like them, we have to live with them, its none of their business whether or not we get them.
Heres an idea..if you hate tattoos so much, dont get them, plain, and simple. But dont put down those of us who like them. They dont make us stupid, they dont make us dirty, and they dont make us bad people. they make us people who happen to enjoy a different kind of art.

Eww...tattoos are disgusting. Just kidding. It's your body, I don't care. I have a navel piercing and people say the same thing. I am concerned about when I'm 60, will I really rock a navel piercing??? I don't really think so. I'll probably get a plastic surgeon to work on it by then, if the hole doesn't close. I just think that's what people worry about when they see someone young with a tattoo. Other than that, hey whatever. If you really don't care, then you need to be confident enough to take it and that's that. You aren't going to stop people from having an opinion. It's your issue about how you deal with the comments. I'm sure you'd eat up the compliments, because it feels great to get attention. If you don't care what people think, you wouldn't care to get compliments either.

Because ppl who judge others for their art and expression feel that everyone has to remain traditional and not mark their bodies. They also believe they need to voice their opinion just as much if its in a negative aspect of the question which in this case is most of the answers you find.
Best thing for people who do not love the art of tattooing is to just flat out butt out when someone who has a genuine question, they just need to let a person who has tattoos answer. Its more beneficial to that person and also makes sure they don't get any bad advise.

By *no* means am I excusing their behavior, but...
As I understand it, new questions show up on the general list. This means the "mundanes" see them & the kewl d00ds figure they'll score a couple of "haw haw" points in a group they'll never normally see. Even more anonymity than normal, and therefore even more courage.
That doesn't cover all of them, but it probably covers a reasonable number. It also doesn't count the religiously confused, but I suspect that's actually a fairly small percentage.
And, of course, then we have the trolls.

Lol, I had a similar rant to yourself the other day.....
I don't need some 13 year old telling me whats bad for me.... I don't need some christian telling me my body belongs to god and that I should respect it! The list could go on forever really......
I just give them a bad rating an move on....

because they want to voice their opinion and get two points even though the person asking could care less what they think.

aren't we all?
this is, sadly, a very judgemental place to live and we all have to accept the fact that we will be judged, by our appearances and personality, whether we agree or not. whether we like it or not.
get over it.
