I wish I could help. I'm in the same situation. I fell in love with someone who wouldn't let himself love someone else. I've never allowed myself to get so close to someone. Though I saw that coming, and I tried to not care so much, I found that I couldn't help my feelings. I have never felt so out of control of a situation in my life... this is the only time I've not been able to just 'turn it off', for lack of a better phrase. I took a chance and told this guy how I felt (we had been close friends for a year and a half, then had dated for another year when this happened). That night, he literally turned and walked away from me, and since than I've been miserable. He keeps trying to be my friend, keeps telling me he cares about me, keeps contacting me and wanting to hang out and such, but it's like he doesn't understand how badly he hurt my heart, and his constant contact keeps me from getting over him. (He's almost 33, he should know that we can't go back to being friends so soon after this...) I just wanted to answer your question so you knew that you're not alone with this feeling. If you figure it out, let me know. I need it too.

Realize that it's just your mind temporarily playing tricks on you, and that everything will pass away with time. Once you get over it or you fall in love with a different person, you won't even understand why you even fell in love with that person you were originally in love with. Falling in love is not the same as loving someone, because it's more about filling a void than caring about that particular person.

Love can't be controlled. It just happens on its own whether it's falling in or out. It hurts when someone fell out of love with you, but seriously, what can you do??? Just accept it, respect his/her feelings, and move on.

time heals everthing. Start looking for other people, and hopefully you'll fall out of love.

Well you can't really force yourself but if they do something that you don't like you will. Also time will cause you to find way better guys.

If it is true love,,you don't. It does get easier as time passes to live without them,,,

When its true you don't, unless you manage to lie to yourself long enough to convince yourself you never did.
