Can you provide an example of how this term is used?

It means you don't have enough money to pay your debts so you have to take from one person to pay your debts to another.

You have a bunch of credit cards. You haven't enough money to pay them off....your monthly payments take up all your cash. Since the due dates are different, you use one card to pay another card and then another card to pay the minimum amount of another card, etc. You're not paying anyone off...you're just moving your debt around.

P.S. Don't get into this...I had alot of credit card debt once, it's like being buried alive!

It means you are moving debt around.
i.e. you owe freind (a) £100. This friend wants his money back so you borrow £100 from freind (b) and repay friend (a). You have repaid friend (a) but still owe £100 out.

They were both desciples,so the money they had was common to all,there was only one (judas)who carried the money for all 12......So its like taking money from one part of your budget to cover another.

it is like a robin hood principle,,, peter has but paul doesnt so a person will steal to the one who has, then give it generously to the one who doesnt have,,capiche'

It means that you pay one debt with another debt..in mathematics you have acheived nothing...just paid one creditor off to attain another one.

to me it means....paying your electric bill with a credit card...or not paying on to pay the other.....
