I think they make good lovers because they know you and so understand you much better than other people do.

No , Not at all. It makes things complicated! You may believe you love them, and you might TRULY love them, but if something happens you lose both a lover and a friend....and as ...."Friend" once said to me " if you can stay friends after a relationship you are either still in love ....or never were"

If you are really good and close friends then friendship with "benefits" or "perks" should not be an issue if you can have sex for sex's sake but sex has a way of confusing us into thinking we are intimate with the person we are having sex with, which you should be for it to be more meaningful, and that causes people to think that sometimes their friendship is or should be a little more. More problematic is when one of the friends actually has "those feelings" for the other. Sex should be no strings or an expresion of love but both poeple have to be doing it for the same reason.

depends on your values, the way you r brought up etc..
I personally think this way:
My expectations of a relationship with a friend wud be quite different from my spouse.. the roles played are quite different and if start some new relationship thinking things wud go the way they used to then it might not come out true.. this isks not only broken hearts but also lost of a gud friendship..
I see too much risk in it.

My best friend and I in high school tried to become lovers, but we had grown up together so it was just weird to kiss, let alone get any farther than that. We tried again in college and have given up on the concept.
A friend of mine( I just performed her wedding) just married her best guy friend from high school. The funny part is that many people thought that he was gay. He was just too shy to ask her out..They are so happy together!!!

They can, and sometimes they don't. I started out being a friend with this guy, and now we've been pretyt close for awhile now.
With them being friends it can go to both polar ends. Sometimes it'll work cuz theres the mutual understanding and respect for eachother and they'll have a feel for what you like. Other times, it can just be ackward and you just don't wanna see eachother.
