Usually an atheist is an atheist because he knows there's no evidence of a god and that the probability of one existing is vanishingly low.
What's there to research?
The Bible? Nope... it is of no evidence.
The universe? That's why he's atheist along with over 95% of scientists.

janejane, no one knows everything but people everywhere live with negative claims like "There are no mermaids, no unicorns, no dragons"... another one is just "There is no God".

janejane's argument:
...Because in order to say that something absolutely does not exist, you must know everything that does exist. Do you know everything? BECAUSE IF YOU DO THEN YOU ARE GOD HIMSELF!

just because there's no evidence that god does not exist doesn't mean that god doesn't, much like the opposite where god exists because there is no evidence that god does not exist.
neither side can truly give us a definite reason why god exists or doesn't exist. they are both speculation derived from what we know and how we interpret what we know.
if energy cannot be destroyed nor created, then where did all this energy come from? if everything that's in this world was somehow created by something else, then who or what created god?
none can truly answer. perhaps one day we'll be able to put the puzzle pieces together. but as of now, humans lack the capacity to truly understand the universe as a whole.
perhaps that's an atheist should rethink 'his' position. the fact that the truth is out there and we cannot find it unless we seek for it. how can we seek for something that we do not wish to search for?

How about The Holy Spirit? Everything else is just secondary evidence one you have witnessed the Holy Spirit. For example you can research the moon all you want, but it all becomes secondary evidence once you have been to the moon. In the same way, all the "evidence" for Christianity or the existence of a deity is secondary once you have personally felt him.
And the more I have learned about the Bible, both in learning Greek and the more I study history, the more solid it becomes. The New Testament in particular is the most irrefutable book I can conceive of.

I think everyone should rethink their position on every subject out there. Your a Christian im guessing so I think you should rethink your position. Not because you are losing your faith or anything but because once you question something you either find out a better solution or just figure out more about your faith no matter what religion you are except if your stupid or something and don't have any logic in your God given brain. I think everyone should question where they stand for and try to find proof for what requires some faith. Remember this, the definition of faith is to believe in something that there is not proof for. There is proof for everything. We just haven't discovered it yet and we won't if we don't question things.

they have the regulation and the prophets. in the journey that they gained't trust them they gained't trust regardless of if one were to come back decrease back from the useless. Jesus Christ got here decrease back and became proved alive with many infallible proofs. nevertheless they do no longer trust, no longer because there is not any longer an abundance of logical info for instance them to believing the reality, yet because they desperately do no longer pick to trust the reality. the genuine Lion of Judah would draw them to Him, yet they would not. He weeps over their destruction and yet they'd hate him because his purity contrasts their sin. they'd cover in darkness notwithstanding the ordinary exposes their sin. do no longer imagine that good judgment has taken a professed atheist to his stance. and do not imagine that good judgment will pass him to reality. no one contains the LORD except that He attracts them. As Pharaoh hardened his heart adverse to the comprehend God by Moses, so at present there are those who've hardened their hearts and are reserved for destruction. they have loose will and they have made their decision. The LORD will now no longer draw them at the same time as they have lengthy gone too a recommendations. I ask the LORD to not at all enable me lose the phobia of Him lest I too walk into the pit.

An atheist shouldn't have to rethink anything. If he is comfortable believing that there is no God, he should just leave it at that.
On the other side of the coin, a Christian, Muslim, Buddhist etc. shouldn't be asked to rethink their posiition either. Usually somebody is the religion of their choosing because it works for them and is enriching to their lives.
Just respect others' religions ( or lack thereof) and keep it to yourself. Why is that so hard for some people.

Everyone should be able to believe in whatever they want to believe in. Regardless of evidence or research.... Who cares who "right" or "wrong"? You should never question or re-think what you truly believe. If people have a problem with what you think the f*ck them...

95% of scientists is not Atheists.......
it takes a certain kind of christian to think that seeking to understand the way the universe works is denying the existance of god.

Because in order to say that something absolutely does not exist, you must know everything that does exist. Do you know everything? If not, who is to say that God isn't found in the part of knowledge you haven't found yet?
In other words, you don't know what you don't know.
