Don't scratch it.

The symptoms depend on what type of spider bit you. There is one thing that nearly all spider bites have in common - two tiny pinholes or red dots side by side where their 'fangs' poke you. If there isn't two little red dots, then it probably isn't a spider bite.

All spiders have some type of poison, but some are not nearly as toxic as others. Immediate reactions at the bite location could be any one or more of the following: allergic reaction, itching, swelling, burning, tingling, and pain; and the intensity can vary from mild to extreme. Systemic reactions may include no symptoms at all, to things like nausea, sweating, headaches, and flu-like symptoms.

The more toxic spider bites may cause tissues to die around the wound, which produces a blackish-purple hole that keeps getting wider and deeper. Other types of bites cause red welts with a infected core in the center.

The bites of most spiders and insects, including mosquitoes, fleas, flies, bedbugs, and chiggers, are similar in appearance and pose little danger. Typically, the injection of salivary fluid or venom into the skin provokes a small, itchy swelling that lasts a few hours or days. The bites are seldom dangerous; rarely, mosquitoes in certain areas may transmit diseases such as malaria and encephalitis.

For people allergic to insect or spider bites, such bites can cause severe trauma and even life-threatening anaphylactic shock. Also, the bites of a few spiders, ticks, and insects are poisonous or associated with specific diseases.

depends whrere you live, what spiders are known to the area, how long ago was you biten, is the bite area breaking down or has it stayed the same?????

if it was a poisonous bite then the bite usually starts to deteriorate, and reddness and swelling can spread also pains stiffness to the lower limb, if any of this occurs then it is best to get checked out,

if you are in the uk though there is very tiny chance of that happening,

the reaction depends on your metabolism it can be anything from nothing to going into shock

the important thing is time if you are fine an hour later then you have an insect bite with the normal options of minor treatment or no treatment - if the area of the bite is worse and continues to worsen ( except for the reaction to your scratching ) then you need to see a doctor - infected venom areas can cause permanent damage to your skin ( spider or snake venom is venom only the quantity is different )
