Not the security we all know and loathe, but more like survellence. They don't just let anyone near the plane or on the ramp. Now, some small airports allow people to walk along the tarmac, like Torrance Zambarini Field. Others are more strict.

If you are flying on a private jet or business jet such as a leer or Citation you are going to enter the airplane probobly through an FBO. This is a Fixed Base Operator, but thats beside the point, at these places you show up, tell them who you are and what airplane is yours and they usually buzz you through a door to the outside where all the private planes at the airport are sitting... simply, there is no security... however there is typically 24-hour survelience on all the airplanes left outside.

No - private jets are parked in an area separate from the general terminal and there is no metal detector, removing of shoes, screening of luggage etc.

Even the GA entrance at OAK has 24 hour security, it's not the TSA take your shoes off type security but they are only letting people in who can pass muster.
