The use of toothpastes alone will not significantly whiten your teeth. However, whitening treatments (there are Crest strips!) can be purchased at a low cost from just about any store. And those will noticeably whiten your teeth.
I would know, I use them. ;-)
Good luck!

it all depends, honestly. i've tried all sorts of whitening products in the past. if i continue to do things that will stain it, most of those whitening toothpaste doesn't really work. i drink a lot of tea, so it didn't seem to help much. at least, nothing noticeable. i'm currently using crest pro-health toothpaste and it seems to be better than others that i've tried. it makes my mouth feel clean and fresh and i can definitely notice that my teeth are whiter. the baking soda and peroxide one didn't work well for me but like i said it all depends on the person.

The best thing you can do is see a dentist and have your teeth cleaned before you start any whitening program. If you have tartar on your teeth, no amount of whitening will give good results. I hate going to the dentist, but if you find the right one, you'll be glad you did. Also, floss. Fresh breath is important, too, and just brushing won't remove all the stuff caught between your teeth.

Commercial tooth whiteners use hydrogen peroxide and
are expensive and inconvenient. A cheap and natural
tooth whitening home remedy uses few strawberries
but certain precautions have to be taken.
I found the information at

I used that toothpaste for a while but my teeth didn't really get whiter, maybe brighter. I think only professional treatments will get your teeth extremely white.

yes, especialy if you also use a product like plax, which helps to dissolve plaque on your teeth, and make them whiter. it is used before brushing. It makes a difference after a few weeks.

probably- even if you just brush your teeth with regular baking soda, it would still whiten them
