Yes- actually you can...especially if the vanilla is a good, expensive brand with a high alcohol content.

I had a friend in high school whose father was previously an alcoholic and his wife stripped the house of all liquor so he couldn't drink after he left rehab...and she found him drunk in the kitchen from drinking her rather large bottle of premium vanilla extract for baking...He also got drunk off of cough syrup. She left him because she said he was pitiful...

Anyway, hope that answered your Question!

P.S.- It's also important to mention that he was also covered in vomit when she found him...because of the repulsive taste of vanilla....I wouldn't recommend it.

Vanilla extract contains alcohol ...therefore you could get drunk. But if you are determined to get drunk, there are better tasting ways!! By the way, when you cook something that contains vanilla extract, the alcohol cooks off.

It's not a stupid question if you don't know the answer, which by the way is yes. Vanilla extract can get you drunk.

yeah vanilla extract would be safer because you normally use it in food. The same cannot be said for listerine.

If you could get past the taste, you could drink it. It has a horrible flavor if you were to drink it. If you actually manage to get it down, it'll give you terrible stomach pains and it'll eventually come right back up.

You certainly can, but it will take a fair amount to get you there. If you drink it straight, you'll probably barf before you get drunk--try it in cola or, best, cream soda.

Oh, totally! But you have to drink, like, 6 little jars! It's so totally cool. Go buy a bunch, mix them with floor and suger, and swig 'em down! It's called a "Cookie Chaser". I love 'em.
