I remember when I was a very young girl my parents and my sisters and brothers and I went to live on the beach in Galveston,Texas. My dad had lost his job so for 2 weeks we lived on the beach, went swimming any time we wanted. We might have been poor but we had each other and we survived with little money and ate a lot of fish and crabs and taters. This happen in 1960 or around that time.

lots to think about.
I used to sleep under my bed!
I used to climb up the door and sit on it. My mom would look for me for hours. Our house had a very high ceiling and this was possible to do!
I used to lie on my back and play super mario, upside down! It was very hard and challenging! :D
I always looked forward to the gifts my dad was bringing back from his business trips. He used to come back home in the middle of the night and used to put my gifts on the nightstand so it would be the first thing I would see in the morning.
I loved biking in the rain.
I loved swimming in the middle of the day.
I once rode my bike into the swimming pool and that was FUN.
I was the only person who knew were the cookies and chocolates were hidden. My mom told me because I was the only one not interested in them :D So my brothers used to bribe me so I would get them some chocolate or cookie! :D
I told my grandma that I would throw her out the window if she were naughty. I was 3-4. I hardly remember it. My mom told me the story.
I once shaved my eyebrows when I was a kid :D lol
I have a lot more but I have to think about it :D

EDIT:
oh and I loved it when my mom would put some nutella on toast. YUMMMMM.

My fondest memories are times with my grandfather, times at the beach, with other extended family members like aunts and uncles and cousins.

Just so you know, not everyone had great childhoods, some had nightmares for childhoods.

Coming home from school on a cold day and having a thick slice of homemade bread with butter and jelly. I could smell the bread baking as soon as I came in the door. and that aroma is still with me after many years.

my best childhood memories are playing kickball and climbing trees with all the neighborhood kids, then we would have picnics outside and eat peanut & butter and jelly sandwiches and milk...then we would play more after that, all day until the streetlights came on.
