They are medical waste and I believe usually incinerated.
With the families permission some may be used by medical schools for training students.

they really should find some use for them.. but I geuss diseases etc.. can turn people off. I think I remember hearing a story about an eastern european hospital selling human meat... depends where you are I geuss.....
it's not like they are going to / can ... use it.... I wouldn't be upset if my body was used in a canabalism experiment (as Im donating it)
they should use those suckers for tissue donation and experimentation for sure..

My Dad worked in a hospital laundry and one day a leg fell out of the sheets. For real!!!
I think they usually burn them, or send them off to labs. Some people request they be buried.

As biowaste. There are federal regulations for the disposal of biowaste, but ultimately I would guess burning it.
