Okay. Before you start, each player puts a chip in the middle. Then someone deals, and you trade out what cards and whatnot...

My question is, when someone places a bid/bet/whatever, like say 2 chips (50 cents), and the next person says "I see your 50 cents and raise you 50 cents"... Then the next person has to put in a whole dollar, or JUST the 50 cents that the previous person raised?

Oh, and.. When it gets back to the first person who bet, do they have to put in the full wager, or just the raise worth of the last person?

Annnd, I don't play for money. :p I've just learned how to play and trying to figure out the details. Thanks!

For the first question, yes, the next person after the guy who raises 50 cents must put in a whole dollar but when it gets back around to the first guy to bet, he only has to match what the second player raised him.

It is no longer appropriate to say, "I see/call and raise." This can be considered a string bet and is not allowed. A player should say "I raise" if they intend to raise.

But if someone raises your 50 cent bet by another 50 cents the total bet is a dollar. You have to match that dollar if you want to stay in the hand and proceed to the next part of the hand.

Unless a player is all in (bet all the chips they have) all players still in the pot must have bet an equal amount into the pot in order to stay in the hand.

The third guy would have to put in a whole dollar. The bet to him is 50 cents plus 50 cents=$1.

The first guy would just have to put in 50 cents more because, with the bet being $1, he has only put in 50 cents of that.

Its a pretty easy concept.

They would have to put in 50 cents if they were the first person to bet.

if the first person puts in 50 cents and the person after that sees then raises.. the third person would put in 100 then if that person wants to raise they would have to add more. then the person after that would put in what ther person before put in but when it gets back to the person that put the first 50 cents he would have to add up to what the last raise was.
