Whenever i attempt to view a video file using windows media player, the image has no color and appears in black and white. However, using another media player application with the same video file produces video with proper color. Other than that everything is fine eg sound, picture quality. The only anomaly is the colour. Ive made attempts to correct this by upgrading to the newest version of windows media player, and at first the problem was resolved. However the second time i started windows media player to view a file, the same problem occured and is still occuring. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Try to uninstall the previous version and make sure you delete all the previous settings. Even if you upgrade, it seems that it saves your previous settings.
After uninstalling, go to C:\Program Files (or wherever you have the Windows Media player installed) and delete the folder Windows Media Player. Then install the new version.
Make sure you delete all the files with uninstall and don't let it use your previous settings or library when you reinstall. (if possible)

If it doesn't work, contact Microsoft about this. They usually help solve the problem.
