my brother took his daughter to the doc. they said she may be autistic, my brother asked what they can do about it but the pediatrician said nothing He will test her when she turns 3! Thats not until july! Should the doc be doin something now to see what needs to be done? I told him to get another pediatrician, and see if there"s anything that they can test now! they say the sooner they can get it diagnosed the better it would benefit her! so why would he want to wait til she turns three

My son is autistic and it is hard to get a diagnoses. But, the best time to diagnose is the age of 3. That is what doctors will tell you. I suggest finding a support group there are many all over the US. It is can be difficult. Good luck.

A second opinion is always best, no matter the situation! Also, I would suggest to read up on Autism. Online, books, talk to people, etc.

Some tests are best given/taken at a certain age. Although just a few months off may not be much of a difference...although in children 2 months can mean a LOT!

There is nothing you can do to "fix" austim, if that's really what's going on. There's varrying degrees of the level of austim. A lot of austic children function almost perfectly normally.

The very best thing to do right now is to get another opinion (or 2), and just love the child to no end!! No matter the problem in life, children need barrels of love!!!

He should at least see a different doctors opinion. Maybe they have to reach the age of 3 to do the test, some sort of mental ability most kids can do at her age that she can't do. I'm sure everything will be fine and she can get the help she needs when the time comes. Good luck!!!

He should get a few more opinions because autism isn't something to be waiting for. The sooner she gets good treatment the better of she is. They can help her develop better her skills and make her everyday life better and safer for his child.

well other opinions wouldn't hurt but sometimes the doc just can't run proper tests until a certain age. just because he's a doctor doesn't mean he's God! he's trying so give him some slack... and if she is autistic then what can be done!!!??? good luck!
