In April everything leafs and plants are growing. Depending when you go, will decide if the tree are in bloom.

Central Park is more about the views then the greenery. You do not go to NYC for the trees. NYC is about the buildings. it is about the culture. NYC is about the hustle and bustle.

Do yourself a favor, allow yourslef to get lost!! Getting lost is the absolute best way to see Manhatten. I have lived in the shadows of NY my entire life and I have yet to see close to everything. The best times there was just getting of the train and walking around.

The weather can be iffy in April. We have had snow in NYC in April. Central Park is not going to be at its best until mid May. But NYC is a great place to visit anytime of the year.
