Jesus died around the year 0 C.E.

I was born in the 1960s C.E.

Therefore, Jesus' death occurred before my birth, and could not have had any correlation with my birth.

Also, I'm not a "sinner." I make mistakes and I do things that are wrong, but that doesn't make me a "sinner." I'm a person who sometimes does wrong or bad things. When this happens, I make amends as best I can, and try to learn from the experience and not do it again.

Nothing I've done is so bad that anybody has to die for it. The worst thing I've ever done is a misdemeanor in Virginia (punishable by a maximum of 1 year in jail and a $2500 fine.) Also, the statute of limitations is up on what I did.

If Jesus could die for us while we were yet sinners, then I wonder how it's so difficult to say that "us" can mean those that the Father foreknew and predestined before the foundations of the world. The two concepts match up nicely.

Did you know that Jesus has come again "in the Glory of the Father"? Not with a sword to divide as Jesus did the first time, but to bring the teachings of peace on earth, beating swords into plowshares?

Wow. That's amazing.

Do you know what's more amazing?

407,300 American soldiers died for us while fighting against the Nazis and Japanese in World War II.

Yes. I've heard people say that- but I've never understood it.

Why would someone think that he was helping me in any way by dying for me? Wouldn't it have been more useful if he lived longer and continued to spread his message that we should all be a little nicer to each other?

Who the heck asked Jesus to die for me? I sure didn't.

Yes, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us and God was satisfied with Christ an unblemished sacrafice. Who are we to boast of our works and righteousness? Praise be to God!!

I'm pretty sure everyone here has heard this and knows it. Whether or not we agree is another story. We don't need a reminder. I mean, you don't actually expect someone to answer, "Why, no, I didn't know this. Please tell me more..."

So now we are not sinners?

Jews die, God doesn't. Sin is a tool of religions to sell forgiveness. You are being duped.
