Repentance is the key word. To repent is to hate the sin and turn from it. This can start with prayer. You can play music as a from of worship-but nothing but the blood of Christ can atone for sins. Which is cool. The work was already done-we just need to believe and recieve it.

It's about your heart. If your heart is repentant, that's it. The prayer isn't the thing, it's not a magic incantation. It's the offering of a broken soul to God, the only one who can heal you.

are you asking god for forgiveness through the music? this is just my opinion, but i know that god loves it when you talk to him, and we talk to him during prayer, so i think praying might be more effective.
